The Mawumadoka Children Foundation supports pediatric research, education, community benefit programs, and other initiatives that improve the health of children in Nigeria.

The vision of The Mawumadoka Children Foundation is to be the premier foundation focused on the health and well-being of the children of Nigeria and their families by working in collaboration with other organizations in the community.

The Mawumadoka Children Foundation works collaboratively to improve the health and well-being of children and their families. Through funding and advocacy, we enable researchers and community organizations to develop innovative approaches capable of advancing children’s health.

About Us

In June of 2019, The Mawumadoka Children Foundation brand was launched as the umbrella marque for the dynamic and evolving partnerships of our organization. As an independent and innovative foundation, we are channelling our resources to focus on wellness, prevention, research and the many social determinants of health that impact children and families. Through fundraising, grant-making and advocacy The Mawumadoka Children Foundation enables researchers and community organizations to identify and implement innovations capable of advancing children’s health and wellness.

Strategic Plan

The Mawumadoka Children Foundation is excited to announce its first strategic plan that will guide the organization for the next several years. This effort is the result of a Board of Trustees task force which has been formally adopted by the Board with a unanimous vote of support. Eight strategic initiatives will help The Foundation navigate forward as a leading advocate and programmatic funder of children’s services throughout Nigeria.

Community Benefit

Gifts to support pediatric community health help fund critical services and innovative programs not otherwise covered by other private or public sources that address key issues essential to improve the health and wellness of children.

Our Impact

The Foundation currently supports several community benefit programs that help to improve the health and wellness of children. This has resulted in innovative community, patient and family support and wellness programs that improve the health of children.

Lasting impact

Children in poverty are more likely to be exposed to the stress of violence, gangs and drugs. This can negatively affect brain development and long-term well-being. Your support during this vulnerable time helps children and youth set their own goals to build a life free from poverty.

When you sponsor a child, you create a powerful multiplier effect. You help them see beyond the daily struggles of life in poverty. Your support releases them from a cycle of short-term decisions and helps them gain the ability to begin contributing to their own families and communities.

Poverty free

Sponsorship encompasses key programs specifically designed to address a child’s toughest issues in their fight against poverty. Getting and staying healthy, staying in school, finding a stable job. You can help a child overcome challenges they’d otherwise face for a lifetime. You can help set them free.
